Yogyakarta – Monday, April 22^th, 2019, Economics Department and International Program for Islamic Economics and Finance (IPIEF), Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta collaborate with Deposit Insurance Corporation (Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan/LPS) held a Public Lecture themed “The Role of Deposit Insurance Institution in the Framework of Financial System Stability in Indonesia”. The event which took place at 9.a.m until 12.a.m at Amphitheater, Postgraduate building 4^th floor of UMY and was attended by 200 students.
The Public Lecture also attended by Dr. Imamudin Yuliadi as head of the Economics Department and Dr. Dimas Bagus Wiranatakusuma as IPIEF Director, Mr. Hendra Syamsir as delegate of the Deposit Insurance Institution, lecturers of thev Economics Department and IPIEF.
Heady Anggoro Mukti, M.Kn as speaker in the public lecture explained that the background of the establishment of LPS was triggered by the crisis of the 1980s, so that LPS was also called anchor of public trust when banking instability. The Assistant Manager of Litigation Division, said that LPS has two services, namely as a deposit insurance institution and implementing banking resolutions. In his speech, he also stated that deposits guaranteed of every customer is maximum IDR 2 Billion.
