IPIEF Student Selected as Scholarship Grantee for Lithuanian Language and Culture Winter Course

Lithuania – Resty Tamara Utami is an IPIEF student from batch 2015 who was selected as Lithuanian state scholarship grantee. She was selected to be one of student on winter course for Lithuanian Language and Culture from 7th January to 3rd of February 2019 in Vilnius University, Lithuania. The scholarship was given by The Education Exchanges Support Foundation which it is a national agency entrusted administration of Erasmus+ and Lifelong Learning programs and other initiatives funded by the European Commission (EC) and the Government of Republic of Lithuania in the field of education and vocational training, which has been successfully operating since 2007.

One of the scholarships that administered by The Education Exchanges Support Foundation is Lithuanian state scholarships program in which designed for the advanced students, lecturers or researchers of foreign higher education and research institutions. There are 3 types of Lithuanian state scholarships offered are: Lithuanian Language and Culture Courses (Summer and Winter); Short-Term Studies;Short-Term Lithuanian Studies;Full-Time Master Degree Studies.

Resty was one of more than 50 students who hold the scholarship for Lithuanian Language and Culture Course. Students arriving from 19 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Indonesia (Resty), Italy, USA, Canada, Colombia, Latvia, Poland, France, Russia, Finland, Uganda, Ukraine, Hungary, and Germany, have joined the Lithuanian language winter course held from 7 January to 3 February 2019. They also attend lectures in the afternoon on Lithuanian culture, including those on Lithuanian language, history, social & political life, literature, everyday-life culture, old Lithuanian culture. Besides, they get to know such traditional crafts as weaving, binding, and pottery. They also have a get-together where they sample Lithuanian dishes and learn Lithuanian folk songs and dances together with the folklore group Ratilio of Vilnius University.

She said that “Lithuania, a small country with its warming sense of history, bewitching architectural was stunning. A month studying there was a really precious chance I’ve ever got, I learned excessively new marvelous things. I’ve got a chance to get along with heaps of new people having different backgrounds and perspectives. I could have experienced study in a larger environment. Despite all out-standing experiences I got in Vilnius University, attending a big event of Baltic countries as part of Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Copenhagen, Kingdom of Denmark Accredited to The Republic of Lithuania become a never forgotten experience for me. The scholarship and program was definitely worth. I wish if only I could get an opportunity to pursue my master degree in Lithuania or Copenhagen”.  (ug)
