“Not only did this agenda has the purpose of coordinating Indonesian alumni, but also to disclose detailed information about how to pursue Master, Doctoral and Postdoctoral degree in this University. To that end, KKU will hold such an exhibition event in several big cities here in Indonesia, enabling Indonesian students who want to undertake postgraduate programme to ask for all information they need”, source said.
It is worth noting that the international cooperation is becoming increasingly crucial nowadays for Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), particularly International Program for Islamic Economics and Finance (IPIEF) since its vision is to be the leading department in ASEAN. It can be seen, for instance, from the mutual cooperation promoted by IPIEF UMY with Khon Kaen University (KKU) Thailand through initiating the collaborative programme namely visiting professors that has previously been held. Finally, IPIEF lecturer’s election as a President of KKU Indonesian Alumni will probably strengthen academic culture between both universities. [Aw]
