International Program for Islamic Economics and Finance, Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta proudly organizes International Summer School, called: “International Training for Young Islamic Economic Leaders (IT-YIELds) 2022”. This program is designed to develop leadership skill, upgrading knowledge and a medium for interaction among academicians, practitioners and regulators pertaining various issues on economics, either from Islamic and conventional perspective.

5th IT-Yields 2022 will focus on “Promoting Creative Economics for Achieving Sustainable Development Agendas in the Midst Covid-19 Pandemic” The concerns would be discussed in a variety of courses provided throughout the curriculum. Several national and international specialists from various countries will be invited to discuss their expertise and experience in connected fields.

In addition, acknowledged the need of promoting sustained and inclusive economic growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring equal access to opportunities, benefits, and empowerment for all, while also respecting all human rights. Additionally, it recognized the continuous need to assist poor countries and economies in transition in diversifying their production and exports, especially through emerging sustainable growth sectors, such as creative industries. It encourages all to observe the year by national priorities to raise awareness, foster cooperation, and networking, facilitate the sharing of best practices and experiences, strengthen human resource capacity, foster an enabling environment at all levels, and address the creative economy’s challenges.

The 5th IT YIELds will be conducted in English starting from July 25th – August 9th 2022. It will be using offline and online learning system of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (MyKlass UMY) combined with syncronized tools, such as Microsoft teams or zoom. The learning also will be guided by prominent speakers from various countries and background, including academicians, practitioners, and policy makers. This program is targeted to 40 selected diploma and undergraduate students from various fields and open for financial assistance if deemed necessary.
