FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS PROMOTES INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION AGENDA BY VISITING FIVE STRATEGIC PARTNER’S  UNIVERSITIES IN MALAYSIA

[su_slider source=”media: 8006,8004,8002,8008,8010″ limit=”19″ link=”image” width=”1340″ height=”900″ speed=”300″] Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta has set a road map towards a global and reputable university until 2040. To achive such long term goal, university has gradually move forward by taking some strategic planning and strategies. For the first round (5 years phase), UMY is going to be a reputable international university, before taking off towards a research excellence university on the consequtive years.
Correspond to such ambitious vision, it needs some active action in the form of implemented agenda. The vision is expected to be trickled down into faculty and sub unit in ensuring its processes running in linier with the stated vision. Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) is highly committed for supporting such vision by promoting and strengthening international collaboration. The Dean as PIC of internationalization program has set and design some ways, including mapping the area, region, and person in charge. Looking at geograhic benefits, costs, and potential collaboration areas, Malaysia is given a special attention. Given that some high ranking universities are located in Malaysia, the dean considers to have strategic collaboration. He proposes students credit transfer program, staff exchange, joint research, and joint conferences as of some agendas which are potential to be further explored. Hence, based on that notion, the PIC internationalization of Malaysia is selected and mandated by him to explore such potential.
Dr. Dimas Bagus Wiranatakusuma is given a responsible for managing internationalization agenda in Malaysia. On this regards, since December 16 – 21, 2019, he is assigned by the dean to conduct collaborative visit to 5 strategic partners FEB which have signed MoU or MoA. The details are as follows:

According to above agenda and follow up, those five universities agreed to have collaboration on student and staff mobility, through credit transfer and joint research. Therefore, some suggestions in responding such demands are:

  1. Completing the lecturers’ CV and posted in Faculty of department’s website. This is important to match the area of expertise in conducting research collaboration and staff exchange.
  2. Completing the syllabus of courses in department’s website. This is to match the course between university for credit transfer program.

Finally, this collaborative visit is expected becoming an avenue to improve internationalization level in FEB, and UMY generally. Importantly, it can be a motivation to move forward and accerating process towards an international reputable university, insyaallah.
