IPIEF Student as National Ambassador of Literacy and Finance Inclusion

Jakarta – Adra Sari, student of International Program for Islamic Economics and Finance (IPIEF) batch of 2015 was selected to be an  Ambassador of Literacy and Financial Inclusion who directly inaugurated by Minister of Indonesian Economy Mr. Darmin Nasution with the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Republic Indonesia, Minister of Youth and Sports, Chair of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) and Country Director of Asian Development Bank (ADB). The inaugural event titled AKSiMUDA (menabung untuk semua) took place at Badan Pengkajian and Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT) building, Jakarta (30/7).
Adra’s contribution before crowned as Ambassador of Indonesian Literacy and Financial Inclusion was as Ambassador of Youth Finsight which is a collaborative project of Asian Development Bank (ADB) and OJK Indonesia to achieve the deeper understanding of the status of financial inclusion of youth in Indonesia. He was involved as a regional coordinator and also contributed in providing financial literacy and providing information for the community. It went through several ways, including research, national surveys, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to help the government reach one target in formulating financial inclusion policies for Indonesian youth. This contribution lasted for one year before she was selected as the Ambassador of Indonesian Literacy and Finacial Inclusion 2019.
In addition, Adra also conveyed her next assignment as the Indonesian Literacy and Financial Inclusion Ambassador was to continue the large-scale latest project from Finsight Ambassadors which she had previously carried out to mobilize Indonesian youth as executors of the Youth Financial Inclusion Strategy. It is: 1) supporting the implementation of the Youth Financial Inclusion Strategy at the local level of Indonesia; 2) Conduct research and build knowledge of financial inclusion, financial literacy and challenges and consumer protection solutions; 3) providing a platform for Indonesian youth to be able contribute to the National Strategy for Inclusive Finance.
Adra’s motivation to participate in this program is to participate in the development of the financial inclusion for Indonesian youth. On the other hand, this program is in line with a learning focus at IPIEF on economics and finance. “As an Ambassador of Literacy and Financial Inclusion, I hope to be able to inspire more young people to contribute and have a good understanding of financial literacy and the access of all Indonesian youth in financial services. So, will be achieved a better and more prosperous life economically and financially in Indonesia. ” She added.
