IPIEF Strengthened Collaboration with Several Institutions to Organise 3rd ICIEFI and 2nd ITYIELds

Yogyakarta—In order to achieve the vision of IPIEF, which is to be reputable international program on Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance in ASEAN by 2021, there are concerted-cum-determined efforts that have to be made by IPIEF. Of those efforts, organizing two international events that has annually been held by this program, namely International Conference on Islamic Economics and Financial Inclusion (ICIEFI) and International Training for Young Islamic Economic Leaders (ITYIELds) is one of them which has become more and more important in recent days not only to disseminate the seminal research on Islamic Economics but also to provide a forum for young Islamic economist to gather and discuss recent issues and what have to be done in the future for the sake of Islamic finance enhancement.
The previous explanation was the answer by Director of IPIEF, Dr. Dimas Bagus Wiranatakusuma, when asked about the main purpose of said international conference and summer school IPIEF will host in the near future. He also added that this international conference (ICIEFI) is the third conference that has been organized by IPIEF since 2015 meanwhile this year is the second year for the summer school (ITYIELds) to be held. Therefore, IPIEF is trying to strengthen the collaboration with several national and international institutions encompassing International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), Bank Indonesia, I-FIKR from International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), and Ikatan Ahli Ekonomi Islam Indonesia (IAEI). These collaborations are aimed to ensure the success of both international agendas.
Regarding the international conference, Dr. Ayif Fathurrahman, Chairman of the Committee, outlined that the 3rd ICIEFI has actively collaborated with the reputable international journals indexed by Scopus, Econ-Lit, Web of Science, as the publication outlet which includes Malaysian Journal of Economic Studies (MJES) (Scopus Q3), International Journal of Economics, Management and Accounting (IJEMA), and Journal of Islamic Monetary Economics and Finance published by Bank Indonesia. He emphasized, saying: “It is worth noting that the publication in the journal partners is subject to normal editorial process, hence the papers which fulfill the journal requirements and quality will be considered for publication”.
In addition, the 2nd ITYIElds which is jointly organized by International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) and International Program for Islamic Economics and Finance (IPIEF) will further discuss the issue of Integration and Islamization of Knowledge, more specifically, “Al Quran, Science, and Civilizational Renewal: Integration and Quality Assurance”. Dr. Habib Chirzin, IIIT Indonesia Representative, explained: “This summer school that will be hosted in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is an excellent program for lecturers, researchers, students and practitioners to sharing and discussing with the acknowledged experts from various fields. It is expected that the idea of Integration of Knowledge which is based on Islamic worldview can be developed and promoted. We heartily welcome you to participate in this international summer school.”
