Five of IPIEF Student has Joined Internship Program in KJRI Penang, Malaysia

Malaysia – Five students of International Program for Islamic Economics and Finance (IPIEF), Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta joined the internship program at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia/KJRI) Penang, Malaysia. The five student students are Adam Fatahillah Nugraha, Muhammad Zaky Ulinnuha, Muhammad Zaki Mubaroq, Muhammad Ilham and Muhammad Zanuar Mirza. They joined an internship program for a full month starting April 3, 2019 until May 4, 2019.
Internship program being the one part of  IPIEF internationalization programs. Beside that, abroad internship program is expected to be able to provide work experience to prepare facing the world of work globally later after graduating from IPIEF. During the internship program, students were given several tasks and responsibilities, including serving consultations on complaints from Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia, managing extension of Indonesian citizens’ passports in Malaysia and assisting in resolving the problems of Indonesian migrant workers. In addition, they also participated in a program to enhance cooperation relations between Indonesia and Malaysia with the promotion of Indonesian culture and media information.
The momentum of internship that coincided with the Indonesian democratic event are President Election, the students participated in the voting process for the Indonesian President’s election in Malaysia, namely the Voting Committee. This has become a very valuable experience for students. One of Zaky’s apprentices stated “I got the trust of being Panwaslu, which is to be the supervisor of the Election of the Republic of Indonesia. Yes, this is the first time I have participated in Indonesia’s democratic party. When I became a superintendent of the election, I watched what happened during the election, so there would be no fraud at the time of the election. ” In addition, elections abroad are different from those in Indonesia. Outside the country elections are held a week ahead of the Indonesian government’s schedule. This is because there is so much enthusiasm from the Indonesian people who are in Malaysia in participating in this democratic event” He closed.
